Frequently asked questions
About Our Medical Plans
Custom TRT provides testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for hypogonadism (low testosterone), erectile dysfunction (ED), testosterone preservation therapy (TPT) and Hormone Recovery Therapy (HRT).
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) treats hypoganadism (low testosterone) in men. The treatment at Custom TRT focuses on applying a specialized treatment protocol specifically designed for the individual physiology of each of our patients. Our customized approach monitors our patients on a monthly basis, enabling our physicians and medical providers the ability to provide the most precise application of testosterone replacement therapy possible.
Erectile dysfunction, also known as ED, is the inability of the penis to achieve and/or maintain an erection during sexual activity. Custom TRT treats ED through medications and analyzes lifestyle choices that may be contributing factors.
Testosterone Preservation Therapy enables our patients to increase their own testosterone production while maintaining fertility at the same time. This treatment will likely increase sperm production.
Hormone Recovery Therapy treats patients that used testosterone in the past and have lost their fertility. This therapy enables our patients the ability to create their own testosterone and sperm, thus making themselves fertile again.
Blood Tests
Yes. To properly diagnose a man with hypogonadism (“low T”) we need to obtain two lab tests, both done within the same week. Ideally, the tests should be completed a few days apart from one another with at least one being done in the morning. Custom TRT will send a prescription to the lab for two tests.
In order to customize the dose of testosterone specifically needed for your body we need to first understand what your true testosterone levels are. This can only be done properly by seeing how much testosterone is flowing into your body throughout different times of the day. We look at several other bloodwork indicators as well to get a true picture of where you’re at. It’s not just testosterone.
After treatment is initiated we will check your blood in 7 weeks to see how you’re responding and make adjustments to the treatment plan if necessary. From then on blood tests will be done approximately once every three to four months. At Custom TRT we feel it is important to monitor our patients closely to achieve optimum results.
Most TRT places require one set of labs. At Custom TRT we require two because we understand the nature of how and when testosterone is released into the body and as a result we can learn how your body works.
Bloodwork review is a part of all medical plans, but Custom TRT does not conduct, distribute or take part in doing bloodwork. That is done separately by the lab in which it is the responsibility of the patient to settle all costs. The labs we use take insurance and for those without insurance, the labs apply discounts.
About Testosterone
Testosterone is a hormone made in the testicles that essentially makes a man a man. It helps to control strength and muscle mass as
well as sex drive, body hair, bone density and a variety of other functions. Women also have testosterone but only 10% that of men.
The known causes include testicular injury and problems with the hypothalmus, pituitary and thyroid glands, obesity, lack of sleep,
alcohol or drug abuse and medical side effects. Some also theorize that high levels of stress
and processed food consumption may be contributing factors related to men having low
testosterone levels.

immediately. Our goal however, is that they do not happen at all. This is a big difference between how we practice testosterone therapy compared to our competitors. You get what you pay for.
